Search by subject in the Network of Terms

The Network of Terms now offers the ability to filter by subject within a terminology source.

Until now, you searched the Network of Terms by choosing a terminology source and typing a search term. You could already use the list of subjects to find sources and search within them with a single click.

But when you then searched within a broader source, you would get all kinds of terms back: from materials and styles to persons and periods. The solution was to create a separate source for each combination: within the Art & Architecture Thesaurus, this led to separate sources for materials, processes, and styles, within the Cultural History Thesaurus for materials and periods, and within Wikidata for persons, places, and streets.

This is no longer necessary. Within sources that support it, you can now filter by subject. Initially, this applies to the Art & Architecture Thesaurus, Cultural History Thesaurus, and Wikidata.

For example, searching for ‘brons’ in a mixed source like the Cultural History Thesaurus? You can now filter by periods, so you won’t get styles or materials in your results.

Eventually, this approach can be used for all mixed sources.
